One example of these partnerships is the county's state-of-the-art fiber optic telecommunication technology. The local business community and the people of Perry County worked closely with state and national government agencies to bring cutting edge communications within the county's borders. In addition to communication technology, such partnerships have resulted in an expansion of the municipal airport and improved highway infrastructure throughout the region. A project is now underway expanding the reach of sewage facilities into more rural areas of the county, to increase the area of development opportunities.
