The annual Ohio River Sweep event will take place June 15th from 9:00 AM – Noon. The Ohio River Sweep is a riverbank cleanup that extends the entire length of the Ohio River and beyond. More than 3,000 miles of shoreline will be combed for trash and debris. This is the largest environmental event of its kind and it encompasses 6 states.
Anyone interested who is unable to pick up trash can help by donating food to feed the volunteers when the Sweep is completed. Monetary donations to help defray the costs are also appreciated.
Those able to help with this project, in any capacity, can contact the Perry County Recycling Management District office at 3214 Tell St, No. 4, Tell City IN 47586, or call (812) 547-9787, or by e-mail at perrycorecycle@gmail.com
