On October 8, 2019, Indiana Workforce Recovery will host a kickoff event for efforts in Perry County, Indiana. This event will provide employers with a base level of technical knowledge and resources to manage the immediate impact of substance misuse on their current and future workforce.
Topics covered will include: science of substance use disorder, stories of recovery, legal guidance on drug-free workplace policies, how to detect use among employees, optional naloxone training and connection to local treatment and recovery efforts.
This event runs from 9am-3pm. It is free of charge for employers. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided. The evening of the employer convening Indiana Workforce Recovery, the Perry County Chamber of Commerce, and United Way of Perry County will be hosting a community event from 6-7:30pm on Building a Recovery Community, featuring Brandon George, Executive Director of the Indiana Addictions Issues Coalition (IAIC), for a discussion on community impact and the power of recovery. All attendees are welcome to join for both sessions.
