Job Summary
Accurately processes inventory (stock) including receiving, inspecting deliveries, returns, storage and distribution including necessary documentation associated with tasks.

Responsibilities
· Supports and promotes hospital’s mission, vision, values and goals.

· Models PCMH’s Standards of Behavior.

· Consistently utilizes AIDET™.

· Receives deliveries and visually inspects merchandise to report any damage or other discrepancies.

· Checks bill of lading and packing slips for items and quantities.

· Properly stores all supply items and records them on inventory tags on date of delivery.

· Ensures all associated forms are completed and forwarded to the Purchasing Office.

· Attaches the proper patient charge sticker to the respective supply item.

· Ensures proper handling of patient charges.

· Restocks exchange medical/surgical and IV solution supply carts daily.

· Collects patient charge cards twice daily and issues all supplies on the computer.

· Processes all issues from inventory through the computer inventory system.

· Reviews issues, forwards issues to Business Office/Cashier for keypunching and verifies accuracy of transactions per the daily issues register and the department usage reports.

· Notifies the Purchasing Office when supply levels reach reorder points or critically low levels.

· Handles and stores sterile supplies in such a manner as to maintain the sterile condition.

· Maintains a neat, clean work environment and utilizes good storage and distribution techniques, such as proper location, rotation, identification, documentation and organization.

· Maintains various computer generated reports as dispensed by department or area, i.e. Department Usage Report, Issues Register, and Receipts Register.

· Receives, sorts and stocks linen carts twice daily, as required during absence of Floor Captain.

· Performs errands off hospital premises as needed, such as obtaining supplies from merchants or other healthcare facilities.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

· High school graduate or equivalent required.

Licensure/Certification

· None required.

Experience

· No previous experience required.

Mental/Physical Effort

Work performed is varied in nature and requires periods of close concentration to detail and accuracy. Also requires the ability to handle pressure and frequent interruptions. Courtesy and tact are required in dealing with staff members. Work requires periodic heavy lifting and physical effort. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds. Requires intermittent sitting, standing and/or walking. Requires the ability to use office equipment, such as computer terminals, typewriters, calculators, telephones, copiers and fax machines. Requires normal vision range and corrected hearing to a normal range. Requires working under a variety of conditions and occasionally working irregular hours.
